Volunteer for the Tour

The Druid Hills Civic Association has a committee dedicated to organizing and running the Historic Druid Hills Home & Garden Tour each year. We hold regular meetings starting in November.

We have the need for some leadership roles as well as committee members that can offer help as needed, provide input, and more. (see below to learn more)

Reach out to us if you are interested in joining our committee or read more below to learn more about leadership roles.

The Tour cannot take place without a very large number of docents! Our docents guide tour-goers through the homes, point out and explain interesting features, answer questions, and more. It is a great opportunity to work with neighbors old and new, and for high-school and college students to get community service hours. Docents get a free ticket to the Tour to use outside of their shifts.

TOUR LEADERSHIP ROLES All serving in Tour leadership roles are given Tour tickets, and invited to attend the all Tour events, including our fantastic Gala! Tour Co-Chair/Executive Assistant/Project Manager: We are looking for someone with good organization skills and competency with spreadsheets to help liaison/coordinate with other Committee Chairs. Recruitment/Staffing Chair (Co-Chairs): We need one to two people to recruit docents and to manage the online signup sheet for docent shift assignments. Publicity Chair(s): Publicity is in charge of Print (including tickets and posters), Public Relations, Social Media, and Website Design/Content. We are looking for two to three people that collectively have skills in graphic design and formatting, social media, and that are comfortable working with representatives of local media to help promote the Tour. Sponsorship Co-Chair(s): Sponsorship committee is responsible for soliciting potential sponsors (largely realtors and contractors) and Friends & Patrons (largely individuals, VIPS, in the neighborhood) to generate revenue for the Tour. Once committed, the team coordinates with each sponsor to make sure payment is received, and that we are appropriately following through with our sponsor commitments. Good organizational and sales skills are very helpful. If you are interested in helping us fill a committee role, please reach out to Kit Eisterhold to sign up or for more information. We will be thrilled to have you! Contact Kit Eisterhold 404-210-9155 kit.eisterhold@engelvoelkers.com
